Clifton is fortunate to have a very active Chamber of Commerce and Main Street Program. Clifton has been recognized by the Texas Department of Agriculture as a recipient of their Hard Working Community Program. In addition to Chamber and Main Street Events and Festivals, local churches have festivals that promote the Norwegian and German heritages that represent many members of the community. All events and festivals promoted by these groups depend on volunteer efforts of their respective memberships. Many of those volunteer hours are provided by retirees in the community and the "newcomer retirees" quickly find their niche and quickly realize that "It is a Great Life When You Live It in Clifton".
